Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be received by a Unique Rwanda Vacation Experts tour guide upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport. The guide will brief you about the 5 day safari in Rwanda and depending on your arrival time, you will go on a tour of Kigali City. Explore numerous places in this city and visit the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi. Connect to Kinigi at the foothills of the Volcanoes and arrive at the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for the headquarters of the park where you will be briefed by the ranger guides about the gorilla trekking experience. After assigning you a gorilla group you will then enter the jungle for your gorilla trekking tour in Rwanda. After the trekking, have lunch at Ruhengere and spend the afternoon relaxing and sightseeing around the park.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking Experience

After breakfast, you will report to the headquarters for briefing about the golden monkey tracking experience, after which you will enter the jungle in search of these primates. In the afternoon, you will go on a village visit to the Iby’Iwacu community village, located just outside the national park. This living museum highlights aspects of traditional Rwandan society. Visitors can expect to be greeted by joyful dancing, drumming and much more. The village features activities related to the ways of life in the ancient Rwandan kingdom.

Day 4: Hiking Bisoke Mountain – Return to Kigali

Hiking the Bisoke is organized as a one day hike and starts early in the morning. A park ranger will escort you to the top of the volcano.  Bisoke Mountain with is the fourth highest mountain of the Virunga chain and has a beautiful lake on the top. The Crater Lake is the greatest of the Virunga chain. On a clear day you will enjoy the beautiful Crater Lake and the views of the other Virunga volcanoes. After your excursion, transfer to Kigali, arriving at the hotel in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Kigali City Tour – Departure

After your breakfast at the hotel in Kigali, your tour guide will pick you up and take you on a Kigali City tour. There is a lot to explore in Kigali including visiting the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gizozi. Transfer to the Airport for your outbound flight back home.
