Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Akagera National Park.
You will be received by a Unique Rwanda Vacation Experts tour guide upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport. The tour guide will brief you on the 8 Days Adventure Safari Around Rwanda and depending on your arrival time, you will be taken on a tour of Kigali City where you will explore so much including; museums, local markets, craft centers, genocide memorials grounds and more. Have lunch in Kigali and later embark on a journey to Akagera National Park, arriving at the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise.
Have breakfast and then go for a game drive where you may spot various wild animals. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. While on the boat cruise, you might spot various water animals like the hippos and crocodiles.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will wake up early, have breakfast and check out of the lodge ready to embark on a journey to the world-famous Volcanoes National Park, the home of mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Enjoy spotting rolling hills and the verdant countryside as you move and some stops will be made so that you can take it all in. The journey to Volcanoes National Park will take about five and a half hours and you will arrive at the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience.
After your early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers about what to expect during the gorilla trekking experience. You will be allocated as gorilla group and some ranger guides with whom you will enter the forest in search of the gorillas. The trekking activity can be physically demanding and the duration depends on the movement of the gorillas. Once you locate them, you will be permitted up to one hour with them for photography and observation. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Dian Fossey Trek
You will have breakfast and then go to visit the grave of Dian Fossey. This is at the former Karisoke Research Center where Dian spent some twenty years studying the Mountain Gorillas, and the trek to the site is quite spectacular, passing through bamboo forest and afro-montane habitats. You may spot other wildlife during the visit.

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a 6 hour journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park, the home of chimpanzees and many other primate species in Rwanda. The journey to Nyungwe gives you spectacular sightings of this beautiful country and you will see why it is referred to as the land of a thousand hills. Arrive at the lodge in Nungwe in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience – Transfer to Lake Kivu.

After the chimpanzee trekking experience, you will get on the road and head to Lake Kivu, arriving in time for an afternoon boat cruise on the lake. Check in at a hotel near Lake Kivu for dinner and overnight stay.
