Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport.
Upon your arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by a Unique Rwanda Vacation Experts tour guide, who will brief you on the 7 Days Exploring the Best of Rwanda Wildlife Tour and take you on a tour of Kigali City, depending on your arrival time. Explore many places in this beautiful city including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi. You will then be taken to the hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
After your morning breakfast at the hotel in Kigali, you will be transferred to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Nyungwe is home to different species of primates as well as over 280 bird species, majority of which are forest specialists and 26 are regional endemics. Arrive at the lodge in Nyungwe in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience in Nyungwe Forest.
Have breakfast and go for chimp trekking, during trekking you might spot other primates like the colobus monkeys plus viewing other inhabitants of the forest like birds and butterflies, return to the lodge for late lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Guided Nature Walk – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Have breakfast ready for a guided nature walk in the forest to see a variety of animals and some of the three hundred bird species found here, drive to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
You will have an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters where you will meet the ranger guides for briefing about the gorilla trekking experience. When you are done with the briefing you will begin the trekking. The trek can be quite tough that it takes a lot of time approximately 2-8 hours but the duration ultimately depends on the movement of the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed up to one hour with them as you watch them move up and about. This is a good opportunity to take the best photos. After the trekking, return to your lodge for complete relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Kivu
You will have breakfast and drive to Lake Kivu ready for a sunset boat ride on the lake, in the evening you relax on the shores of the lake. Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Return to Kigali – Departure.
You will have breakfast and check out of the hotel ready to start your journey back to Kigali City. Once in Kigali, you will do a tour of the city depending on the flight time of your departure flight. The Kigali City tour will enable you visit the colorful markets, genocide memorials and craft centers are the main areas of interest. Have lunch and be transferred to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight back home.
