Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Virunga National Park
Upon arrival you will be received by a Unique Rwanda Vacation Experts company representative who will brief you on the 6 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari in Congo. Depending on your time of arrival, you may go on a Kigali City Tour, after which you will cross the border into the DRC and arrive at the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the park center to start the day’s activity, you will be divided into groups to track gorilla families, depending on how far the gorilla families have moved, you will take 2 or more hours trekking You are allowed 1 hour with these gentle giants after locating them. After this experience starts the journey back to the headquarters and proceeds to the camp overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience
After your early morning breakfast, transfer to the park center for briefing from the ranger guides and then proceed for chimpanzee tracking. Tracking chimpanzees is much easier compared to mountain gorillas, it takes 2-3 hours in groups of 6 to do the activity and one hour is allowed with the species, chimpanzee are very close relatives to mankind as they share up to 98% of the human DNA. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park
Following breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the south of Congo in Bukavu town, passing through small villages and towns of Congo, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the southern part of the country arriving at the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Lowland Gorilla Trekking Experience
You will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing before you can start the lowland gorilla trek. These gorillas are easy to find taking a shorter time like 3-4 hours, one hour is allowed with the mountain gorillas, after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Return to Kigali – Departure
