Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Gisenyi
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a Unique Rwanda Vacation Experts company representative who will brief you on the 5 Days Gorilla Tracking and Nyiragongo Hiking Tour and transfer you through the beautiful villages of Rwanda while you enjoy the views of tea plantations and the rolling hills, arriving along the shores of Lake Kivu for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibumba in the DRC
After your early morning breakfast, you will drive to Kibumba. Make a stopover en-route for lunch and proceed to the lodge, arriving in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for pre-trek briefing after which you will start the activity, led by a ranger guide. Once you meet the gorillas, you will spend about one hour with them for observation and photography and later return for lunch and a relaxed evening or you can choose to take an evening walk.

Day 4: Nyiragongo Volcano Hiking
After your early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park center for a briefing before you start the hiking experience. Meet with other travelers and start the hike at around 10:00am after reaching the tracking point. Hiking takes approximately 6 hours depending on the speed of the last person, you will have an opportunity of seeing the active volcanic lava, spending the night at the summit.
Day 5: Descend Nyirangongo – Return to Kigali
Descend the volcano and meet up with your guide who will transfer you to Kigali to catch your flight back home.
