The 2 Days Akagera NP will give you a great experience to the game drive. Akagera national park is known for harboring the big 5 five animals following the reintroduction of lions and rhinoceros. Akagera national park is the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduces from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park.

Day itinerary: 

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Akagera

The driver guide will picked you from your accommodation in Kigali and depart to Akagera on a journey of 2,5 hours. With the beautiful unwinding landscape en route to the park, feel free to ask the guide for stopovers to capture some photos. On arrival at the park, we shall proceed to our accommodation after a short game drive and check in. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride at in Akagera National Park for a captivating experience, immersing you in the tranquil beauty of the park and see animals swallowing water at the bank of the lake for unparalleled opportunities to observe and photograph the rich biodiversity of Akagera. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive and Transfer back to Kigali.                                                                                          

After an early morning, start the full day game drive in search for the big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, several Antelope species, and recently the re-introduced Lions and Rhinos. The park is a varied habitat for wildlife and a number bird species with over 500 bird species in the park making it a birding paradise.

You will leave the lodge with parked lunch for the game drive which will last about 6 hours depending on your interests and time before starting the journey back to Kigali to arrive in the late evening and be dropped at the airport for your flight back home or at your accommodation.
